Race Supply 30 Stanway Stacking Chairs to King’s School.

Race Stacking Chairs has recently delivered 30 Stanway stacking chairs to King’s School in Gloucester. The School approached race initially with an interest in the Stanway 2-chair design, with its deeper backrest and requested that there be thicker foam on the seat and back to make it an especially comfortable seat.

King’s School also requested stacking bars for their stackable chairs and the linking system option (available on all the Race stacking chairs), which keeps the seats equally spaced and easy to manage.

A testimonial from the American Museum

"After the renovation of the American Museum's Coach House we ended up with three beautiful, but very empty, rooms. The choice of chair was absolutely essential as it was going to be the dominant feature in the room. The Race selection of stacking chairs was the perfect choice not only for looks but for comfort as well. All that, combined with the ease of ordering and delivery of our chairs, means that I would highly recommend Race Furniture to anyone looking for attractive and flexible seating. Thanks, Laura"

A testimonial from Beacon Church

"We purchased 270 'Stanway' stacking chairs for our church. The Race team were very friendly and kept in touch with us throughout the process. As for the stacking chairs themselves, the whole congregation here has found them comfortable, great looking and we were also impressed with how they stack away neatly onto so few trolleys. We would highly recommend Race to anyone looking for a great quality product and a local service."

Race Stacking Chairs, an example of quality British Manufacturing

For the last 60 years, Race Furniture have been designing and manufacturing quality seating. The design lead approach to projects establish by British post-war furniture designer, Ernest Race, has continued from the companies inception to present day.

In addition to this design lead approach to manufacturing, product quality has been always been an essential part of our company ethos and a key contributor to our longevity. This in particular is an area that we feel our British manufactured stacking chairs win out over products imported into the UK.

Product Choice & Finishes.

In additional to upholster finishes, the Stanway 3 chair is available in a beech veneered finish, making it ideal for locations such as the recently completed Horsely Church installation where a key chair selection requirement was to fit in with the historical surroundings.

Other choices are available for each chair, such as chrome or a durable nylon coating finished in a variety of colours.

In addition to the variety of finishes on offer a range of stacking chair accessories, all British manufactured and designed, are available. These include integral linking systems, armrests, writing tablets and trollies capable of stacking up to 30 chairs.

If you are unable to find a product that fits your requirements, we also have the capability of providing a bespoke service, ensuring that you are offered the ideal stacking chair for your requirement.

Based nearby to the idillic Cotswold village of Bourton on the Water, Race Furniture offer excellent employment opportunities to local people with the right skill set. You can be sure that the working conditions, both in the design office and manufacturing areas, are of a high quality.
As well as offering good local employment opportunities, we are able to avoid the inevitable increase in carbon footprint that shipping products from abroad will cause.

Race Furniture in Milan

Ernest Race was an extremely important figure in British post-war design, and played an enormous part in the development of contemporary designs of furniture and use of materials until his untimely death in his fifties.

With a background starting in interior design, his intelligent use of materials and often whimsical form has left a legacy of classic British furniture designs.

These are now exhibited in many museums and galleries worldwide, and are avidly collected by an increasing number of cognoscenti of modern furniture.

Race Supplies Wooden Stacking Chairs to Horsley Church

Over recent years it has become increasingly popular for Church spaces to be used as flexible community spaces. As such the traditional church pew has been replaced by the stacking chair so that the nave can be cleared into an open space for group activities.

Here at Race we are able to work with all church facility stakeholders, including community groups, church parishes and architect in ensuring that the specification of the stacking chair meet  functional, comfort  and aesthetic requirements of the venue.

At Horsley church it was felt that a beech wooden seat and backrest would be the most appropriate finish to compliment this historical interior. Race worked with both the church architect and the church parish council over a 6 month period in developing the specification supplying a selection of sample stacking chairs that could be evaluated by the committee. The Stanway 3 wooden stacking chair is available in a wide range of timber veneered finished including Ash, Oak and beech. The chrome finish can either be brushed or polished. We are able to supply accessories such as a chair linking , prayer book holders and labelling. An armchair version is also available.

All of Race’s stacking chairs are manufactured in the UK in our factory here in Gloucestershire and come with a 5 year warranty.
